THE ARFC BOOTCAMP FOR KIDS

After a two-year hiatus, the ARFC for Kids is back!

Sadly, racism is worse now than it was when this course was last offered in 2021. Strong action must be taken to ensure our children become anti-racist and inspire other children to do the same. Because as the formerly enslaved Frederick Douglass once said in 1855, “It is easier to build strong children than repair broken men.”

The Bootcamp will be divided into two age groups: kids between the ages of 6-10 and kids between the ages of 11-14. Each Bootcamp will require kids to attend a one-hour webinar session and complete a final project. Upon successful completion of the work, the young anti-racists will receive a certificate.

At the conclusion of the bootcamp, participants will be able to:

Define common terms such as racism, prejudice, white privilege, and systemic racism

Identify reasons why it’s important to embrace the color of people and not be colorblind

Apply a strategy to deal with racist family members or racist friends

Apply a strategy to be anti-racist in their homes, communities, and schools right now

Identify racism in school curriculum and create a plan to address it

Identify the actions NOT to take as an ally-in-training

Apply a strategy to become a proud anti-racist leader and encourage other peers to do the same

Apply techniques to stay inspired in the fight against racism for a lifetime

There will be a final project to complete

All I can say is I’ve had countless parents reach out to me to say that I have a superpower of keeping kiddos engaged virtually. I think you’ll be surprised at how engaging this content can be for children.

Do you record your group sessions?

No. I conduct my workshops live because I encourage interaction. That would be completely lost in a recorded session.
